Talpe, and Everything Around It

EKA Beach sits directly on the sand in Talpe, a quieter stretch of Sri Lanka's south coast a little apart from the crowds of Unawatuna and Mirissa. You're about ten minutes from the Southern Expressway off-ramp, which makes getting here from Colombo straightforward, and under fifteen minutes from Galle Fort — the sixteenth-century, UNESCO-listed old town, still ringed by its original ramparts and full of cafés and shopfronts to wander for an afternoon.

Closer to home, Talpe has its own quiet rhythm: local cafés and small restaurants within easy reach, Buddhist temples tucked along the coast road, and a turtle hatchery nearby if you'd like to see hatchlings released toward the water. The coastline here is also known for its water sports — surfing, snorkelling, and diving are all within reach — and for botanical gardens along the south coast if you'd rather spend a day among the plant life than the surf.

It's an easy base: close enough to Galle to spend a full day there and be back on the sand by evening, far enough from it to fall asleep to the tide instead of traffic.
